Who has the right to say "hey this is now a national park"? Who? Should it be up to the Federal government or up to the individual states?
Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton had very different opinions (I guess that would explain why they were on opposing sides..) Yet for what they would say on there own opinions on the creation of National Parks they might say something that sounds the same to us. Gibberish.
Mr. Hamilton might have said something along the lines of I strongly believe that we should focus our attention on a new remarkably modern economic vision based on investment, industry, and expanded commerce, we should not be concerning our time with such imbecilic substances such as the creation of national parks. Being put into now-a-day speech you might come to understand it as I think we should be worrying about money, businesses, and economics other than .. trees.
While Mr. Jefferson could have said something along the lines of I strongly belive that we should inverably conduct our attention directed toward the creation of National Parks and more importanlt otherwise known as I think we should be focusing all of our attention toward that.

The constitution states:
The constitution has a Property clause in Article IV. Section 3, Clause 2, and this is what it says:
The property clause states: "The congress shall have power to depose and make all needful rules and regulations respecting the territory or other property belonging to the united states..." (Article IV. Section 3, Clause 2.)
The property clause states: "The congress shall have power to depose and make all needful rules and regulations respecting the territory or other property belonging to the united states..." (Article IV. Section 3, Clause 2.)
How does this create problems?
As for the states rights, "Not every Western governor is gunning to run national parks. Although Colorado, Utah, South Dakota and Arizona forked over hundreds of thousands of dollars ($1.7 million in Utah) to re-open parks for the next 10 days or so, many other cash-strapped Western states have said they simply can’t afford it." (States pay to re-open national parks and fuel anti-feds fire)
There are some stated that pay to keep open the parks that are in there states. Unfortunately there are some states that don't have the funds for the up-keep of the national parks. "In Wyoming, a spokesman for Gov. Matt Mead told the Casper star- tribute ' “Wyoming won’t bail out the federal government and spend state money to do federal work.” ' (States pay to re-open national parks and fuel anti-feds fire)
As for the federal authority, "In late April (of 2012), Arizona's Legislature approved a bill demanding that Washington, D.C., give the state control over most of its federal land. Utah Gov. Gary Herbert signed a similar measure in March (of 2012). These bills are, of course, highly unlikely to result in any actual transfer of land; most legal experts think they'll prove unconstitutional, and decades of Supreme Court decisions firmly support federal oversight of certain lands" (Western legislatures grab for control of public lands). Certain lands will be left to the government but for the most part, National parks are become States rights.
The government had more or less decided that the rights should be left up to the states. "Nationwide, about 2,000 state legislators are members of the conservative policy group, which furnishes them with model bills, including the template for the current measures. ALEC (the American Legislative Exchange Council)also supplied language for an unsuccessful 1995 federal Sagebrush Rebellion Act that sought to transfer 422,200 square miles to the states." (Western legislatures grab for control of public lands).

New Mexico
Obama is making another national monument in New Mexico. Did you know??
"President Barack Obama created a new national monument on Wednesday, setting aside a half-million acres of federal land in southern New Mexico where Geronimo once roamed" (New national monument creation in New Mexico).
500 Acers in New Mexico are now considered a national monument. Taking up five mountain ranges. Obama himself even said "I'm searching for more opportunities to preserve federal lands where communities are speaking up. Because wherever I get an opening to get things done for the American people, I'm going to take it" (New national monument creation in New Mexico). The way in which he did this was from the " the 1906 Antiquities Act, authored by President Theodore Roosevelt, which protects cultural and scientific resources on federal land" (New national monument creation in New Mexico). The majority of our presidents have done this except for a select few.

My personal opinion
Upon my investigation my personal opinion is that the states should have full control over there national parks, the rules that reside in them, and where national parks could be and would be made. I also believe that the President of the united states of America should Not have the right to just say hey this is now a national park. Leave. Even if he does have the money to pay them. I believe that that money should be used for more important things. Thomas' and Alexander's early argument express Alexander Hamilton: "he served as the first Secretary of the Treasury, laid the foundations for national economic growth, and helped found the Federalist Party" (signers of the constitution). While Thomas Jefferson: "Cultivators of the earth are the most valuable citizens. They are the most vigorous, the most independant, the most virtuous, and they are tied to their country and wedded to it's liberty and interests by the most lasting bands."
What is the Proper Role of government in our lives?
Warning: this is a bias opinion, The proper role of the Government in our lives should be far less controlling in this subject than they currently are. They have full control over the National Parks and they don't even care about the majority of the land that is "federal". they don't get down to the nitty gritty like the states do. All they want to do is control, Control, CONTROL!
